15th International EHBBC Showbetta Competition We are proud to announce our next showbetta competition in Duisburg 2010! During our show with Joep van Esch as our main judge, show betta splendens bred by many national and international breeders will be judged, shown at the EHBBC stand and auctioned. The fish at the 15th International EHBBC Show-Betta Competition will be judged by an experienced team of judges by a knock-out system according to the new Bettas4all standard. The Bettas4all standard is expected soon to be online. With daily auctions all visitors will have the chance to purchase many different betta of breeders quality. The winning fish of the competition will be available starting Saturday. At our stand the club members will be there to inform you about keeping, maintaining and breeding siamese fighting fish. Who are we?

The EHBBC e.V. was founded at 5th October 2003 by seven breeders from Germany and Switzerland to offer a homeland and a platform to all lovers of the Betta Splendens high breed forms in Germany and Europe. Within the first 2,5 years, we now have already more than 100 members, what confirmed us in our work.
In the meantime our members come no longer only from many European countries but also from other continents and we have friendly contacts to well known breeders in the whole world.
So we are for example a Chapter of the IBC (International Betta Congress) in USA.
We also engage us for the nature protection and are member in the BNA (federation for nature and protection of species).

What do we want?

We want to offer a platform, where Breeders from Europe have the possibility to share actively a European Community of lovers of all high-breed species of Betta Splendens. But in the meantime we had to expand this aim to all other continents, because we are constantly enhancing.
We promote this community, by arranging partnerships between breeders, by joint meetings, like our exhibitions and member meetings, both taking place regionally as well as supra-regional and of course in the world wide web by our forum and chat evenings.
We want to learn together much more about our fish and then use that with mutual support and assistance to breed healthy, vital and beautiful fish.
We want to make them more well-known by our joint activities and to inform more interested peoples about them.
But first of all we want to have much fun with like-minded persons in our hobby!

What do we provide?

A membership in the EHBBC e.V. offers many advantages.

1. minimum 2 evaluation shows per year with international judges
2. Smaller starting fees with the exhibitions (50% reduction for each fish)
3. arranging partnerships between breeders
4. especially for beginners: guidance and help by experienced breeders.
5. Access to internally good breeding pairs (second -, third mating)
6. Purchase of a quarterly issued club newspaper with interesting articles and informations.
7. Possibility to participate in topic-oriented working groups
8. more favourable purchase of aquarian accessories from our partners
9. Simpler purchase of substantial breeder accessories (single container, dispatch boxes, Heatpacks o.a. over collective orders)
10. Linking of the own web page on the EHBBC web page.
11. By the connnection ro the IBC entrance to international shows
12. much, much fun with like-minded persons and exchange of experiences with other breeders.
